The Z's in Zimbabwe
Aaron and Stacy Zabriskie are medical missionaries serving in a hospital in Karanda, Zimbabwe. The Hospital, Chapel and surrounding facilities are 3 hours into the bush from the capitol city of Harare. The hospital is supported by a Christian organization called TEAM.
Independent since 1980, Zimbabwe has enjoyed periods of growth and prosperity and has suffered through numerous crises. With the people reeling from political instability, severe economic hardships and other realities such as the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS, massive unemployment and broken systems, one might be inclined to view the country in terms of pain and brokenness. This, however, would be an incomplete picture.
Meet the people of Zimbabwe and you will hear moving stories of hardship, but you will also find stirring examples of warmth, resilience, vision, initiative and mercy. Into this situation, TEAM missionaries have the privilege of playing a part in equipping church leadership, demonstrating the love of Christ and together with the church, striving to reconcile individuals and communities with each other, with creation and with their Creator.
Meadowbrook supports this couple in their mission to contribute to a people of need using their training as doctors and their love of Christ.
