Hopelink’s Avondale Park
The residents of Hopelink’s Avondale Park are families in transition who are working toward self-sufficiency. Meadowbrook is delighted to help these families in many ways, but primarily by hosting a dinner for the resident families each month. The fourth Wednesday of every month, we prepare, serve and clean up dinner for 50-80 people (and we have a great time doing it)! As an individual, you could donate to prepare some food or volunteer to serve. Also a great opportunity for a Share Group to work together! Contact Judy Chambers.
YWCA Family Village Apartment
Meadowbrook has adopted an apartment with the Redmond YWCA Family Village! The YWCA Family Village gives families a home while helping them to secure permanent housing, but most families moving into the Family Village don’t have much. Meadowbrook will outfit an apartment with the comforts of home making it ready for a new family to move into. For more information, contact Linda Avery.
Every Tuesday from 7-8:30pm, Meadowbrook offers English classes for free. This is a much needed service for our community, and many come each week to learn English in a safe and loving environment. If you can speak English, then you can help! There are plenty of volunteer opportunities to teach English, offer homework help to young students, and even childcare. Contact Glee Jones.
